David Shrigley finds meaning in snippets of text and overheard conversations. This playful and witty ink drawing recalls those that might be found in an adolescent’s sketchbook. Shrigley’s conceptual works use humor to explore the comedy and pathos of everyday life. As the artist has stated, most aspects of life have the potential to be “ridiculous, absurd, awkward, funny and meaningless all at once.”
