Wildfire
Abstract
The company Wildfire offers a product that is a virtual secretary--embedded in the phone system. Students can call 1-800-WILDFIRE and hear a product demonstration. All the commands, from calling, to setting up meetings, to providing reminders, are verbal--told to the user by the Wildfire assistant living in the network. CEO Bill Warner must decide on the key product or attribute of the product or service that he offers. He must address the following questions: What is his best means to sell this product/service? Who should his strategic partners be? This is a strategy case for a marketspace company, that is, a company that exists only in the realm of the marketspace.
