Note on Fiscal Policy--1937-61
Abstract
Describes the evolution of U.S. fiscal policy from its theoretical conception with Keynes in the 1930s to its implementation in the tax cut of 1964. Focuses on the political and ideological obstacles to the use of countercyclical policy as well as the success of the Employment Act of 1946.
