GLOBALIZATION AND STRATEGY
Description
Pankaj Ghemawat is engaged in a substantial stream of work on globalization and strategy. On the research front, this has involved a particular focus on the levels and dynamics of cross-border market integration, location-specificity and persistent sources of difference/distance between countries, the role of the industry context in mediating their effects, sources of competitive advantage/disadvantage from international operations, generic strategies for value creation from internationalization, and the implications of complexity. On the course development front, this effort has so far generated approximately 20 new cases and several conceptual notes for the second-year MBA elective, Globalization and Strategy (G&S) as well as a CD for the faculty seminar series.
