Description
Walter Kuemmerle's research and teaching interests fall within the domain of knowledge and capital management in a global economy. His research focuses on international entrepreneurship and venture capital. He studies venture capital systems and entrepreneurship in different countries. He recently carried out a comparative study of the private equity industry in the US and Germany. He also examines determinants of performance of international ventures. His research has led to the development of a new MBA course "International Entrepreneurial Finance" which he currently teaches.
Walter Kuemmerle also researches technology strategies of multinational companies. He currently examines how new technologies influence the value of strategic assets in the pharmaceutical industry. He has studied factors that induce firms to establish R&D sites in foreign countries and he has carried out research about the optimal size of R&D sites as well as about resource allocation processes in small and large firms.
