Sustaining innovation in mature organizations
Description
A theoretical investigation of how mature organizations can prevent exploitation (refinement of existing capabilities) from driving out exploration (development of new capabilities). We propose that perturbations create opportunity for organizations to learn. To capture these opportunities, organization member must actively interpret perturbations in ways that yield new knowledge. Collaborative work with Bradley R. Staats, Michael L. Tushman, and David M. Upton.
