Studying the Historical Impact of Globalization on Argentina and Chile
Description
A major priority of the business history group within the Entrepreneurial Management Unit at Harvard Business School is the globalization of the research and teaching of business history. Within this broad context, the overall aim of this two-year project is to energize research on the business history of Latin America, especially the southern cone countries of Argentina and Chile. This project will focus on the historical impact of globalization waves on Argentina and Chile. The primary output by 2008 will be an articulated research agenda on what can and should be done for research on this topic. We also hope to launch an initiative to locate and preserve available business archives and other resources in Chile and Argentina. This will be coordinated with the Baker Library at Harvard Business School and draw on its expertise. Another goal will be to reach out to local universities and researchers and, to business practitioners to create a community of interest to foster and facilitate business history research in the region.
