Maya Balakrishnan is a doctoral student in the Technology and Operations Management unit at HBS. She received a BS in Computer Science and a minor in Philosophy from Stanford University in 2016. Prior to beginning her PhD, Maya has worked at Microsoft and Goldman Sachs, and has founded and run a VC-funded company that digitizes factory operations. Her interests are broadly in the future of work, including how humans and operations algorithms can interact and work together, and how to design ethical platform and marketplace algorithms.
