    The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Harvard Business School, and University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School Collaborate on Impact Investing Data Collection

    BOSTON, CHICAGO, PHILADELPHIA—Chicago Booth’s Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation, the Harvard Business School Impact Collaboratory, and the Wharton Social Impact Initiative of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School announced today the launch of the Impact Finance Research Consortium (IFRC), a joint effort to collect comprehensive data on impact investing funds. The IFRC’s key initiative is to build a database on the financial performance, due diligence practices, investor relations, legal governance, strategy, and management of impact investing funds across the world. The resulting Impact Finance Database (IFD) will catalyze groundbreaking research on this young but rapidly expanding field. Read more.

      HBS and Harvard’s Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology Receive $25 Million Gift from The Chris and Carrie Shumway Foundation to Support Leadership in Life Sciences

      Harvard Business School (HBS) and Harvard’s Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology (HSCRB) have received a $25 million gift from The Chris (MBA 1993) and Carrie Shumway Foundation to fund programs promoting leadership in life sciences, including the MS/MBA Biotechnology: Life Sciences, a joint degree offered by HBS and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and Harvard Medical School through HSCRB. The gift will help bridge the worlds of business and science by fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation at HBS and across Harvard, supporting work on pathbreaking research and educating a new generation of leaders in the life sciences.       Harvard Business School Announces Establishment of The Joseph Bower Family Fund

      BOSTON- Harvard Business School (HBS) has received a gift from Joseph L. Bower, Donald K. David Professor of Business Administration, Emeritus, to support and strengthen case writing. The Joseph Bower Family Fund will enable faculty members to produce cases with deep learning and insights about important phenomena in business. To begin, the fund will provide support for cases focused on advancing racial equity and the unique challenges facing Black managers, and with diverse protagonists. Read more.

      Harvard Business School Announces Inaugural Cohort of Executive Fellows

      BOSTON—Harvard Business School has announced the inaugural cohort of Executive Fellows for the 2020-21 academic year. The Executive Fellows program will leverage the expertise of outstanding practitioners, including alumni, each of whom will partner with an HBS faculty member to bring their experience in business into the MBA program and the School.
