“Coming to HBS is like getting a chance to shrink the world.”

Why did you choose this path at this point in time?

I wanted the time and space to discover the unknown unknowns about myself and the world that I can help shape in the midst of incredibly diverse, brilliant, and humble people.

Coming to HBS is like…

Getting a chance to shrink the world and be in proximity to some of the most interesting and thoughtful humans across all different backgrounds and experiences.

Being part of the HBS community is like…

Stepping into your own self-discovery journey alongside the most supportive, talented, and encouraging people going through similar yet different transformations with you.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A detective! I definitely read too many Nancy Drew novels and loved the combination of solving puzzles and delivering justice.

What is your favorite childhood memory?

Growing up in China, we'd celebrate Chinese New Year by going back to my grandparents' house. We'd all brave the cold to wish our friends and neighbors a happy New Year, make dumplings, and set off incredible fireworks.

Who is one person from your life that you admire the most today?

My parents! It's hard to imagine the courage, hard work, and resilience they needed to leave all they'd ever known and come to the US for a better life with zero safety net.

What’s the best thing about your home town?

We had some of the best educators! Huge shout outs to Ms. Eddy who instilled a love of US history in us and worked nights and weekends to make sure we all passed the AP test, Mr. Wood who pushed us to the brink but left us a love for literature, and Mr. Meloche who knew when to be a teacher and when to be a friend.
