Abstract

This video provides an introduction to the free programming language R using an online cloud version of RStudio, which is the most popular editor and interface for writing and executing R code. The video begins by providing a brief background of R and RStudio and explains how to create an account and set up a project on RStudio Cloud, a cloud-based version of RStudio. The video then explains all the necessary steps to perform a two sided t-test in R. In particular, it explains how to: (1) import Excel files into R using the readxl package, (2) view and explore data in R, (3) perform basic data wrangling (gathering, selecting, and transforming data) using the data.table package, and (4) perform a two-sided t-test using R’s internal t.test() function.
