One of the primary interfaces between the Social Enterprise Initiative and practitioners is through our executive education programs. HBS offers six open-enrollment and two custom social enterprise Executive Education programs each year: three targeted toward nonprofit leaders, three for corporate leaders, one for leaders in the microfinance industry, and one for teams of education leaders within urban public school districts.

 

Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management

The Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management (SPNM) program brings together some 150 leaders of nonprofits from across the globe for an intensive six-day program designed to strengthen the capacity of nonprofit CEOs and executive directors to lead their organizations effectively. SPNM provides a conceptual approach to shape the direction, mission, policies, and major programs of nonprofit organizations.
 
 

Governing for Nonprofit Excellence

This three-day program explores issues of critical concern to board leaders, including strategic planning; managing mission transitions and organizational transformations; achieving financial sustainability; driving high performance; attaining effective board-CEO relationships; creating a productive board structure and a culture of board engagement; and preserving trust and accountability.
